After almost two years in the making The Fitness Experts, Tom Edwards and Jon Williams have launched their exciting new facility in High Wycombe.

The Objective

Following the success of the original Fitness Experts gym in Basingstoke, this expansion marked an opportunity for Tom and Jon to take their popular functional fitness bootcamp style of training to a wider audience. For any fitness fanatic or relative newbie, the Fitness Experts gym offers a fun and exciting alternative to the traditional gym model.

Gym Design and Planning

Over the course of the design process for this second facility, Origin Fitness offered on-going support with design, specification and product advice. After many site visits, meetings and the creation of 3D visuals, the team working on the project finally settled on a plan that we believe created one of the most current and exciting functional gyms we’ve worked on.

Gym Flooring That's Fit For Purpose

A key aspect of the facility, that truly enhances its training offering, is the specialist flooring products installed. In the strength and free weights zone, Origin Fitness have installed 40mm high impact tiles, with integrated oak lifting platforms to create a robust space which is suitable for all standards of lifter. The main gym floor comprises of 15mm gym floor tiles and a 3m x 15m artificial turf sprint track with shockpad underlay - perfect for prowler and sled work that trainers love, and clients hate.

Choosing the Right Gym Equipment

For the Fitness Experts bootcamp area the owners chose a wide variety of items from the new Origin Fitness range. These choices included an Origin freestanding punchbag, gym balls, kettlebells and slam balls along with of other accessory items. As well as choosing the Origin Fitness brand to equip the facility, Origin Fitness delivered products from other world leading brands such as Alpha Strong, TRX and Impulse Fitness.

The PT area, which incorporates the free weights and strength training facilities also has a great selection of products from the Origin Fitness strength range, as well as items from other key brands. To create a great area for members working on strength and power Tom and Jon chose the popular Origin half rack and hard wearing Origin urethane bumper plates.
